When I started learning to code and make this website, I had no fucking idea where to start. There was so many things and so many pretty sites that I wanted to replicate but had no way of doing. I don't want you dear viewer to get discouraged from joining the indie web because of not knowing where to start or being overwhelmed by coding and properties.

  1. W3Schools ++ A lifesaver at sooo many points in the process! Also suggest watching the youtube videos along with it for more visual learning.
  2. StackOverflow ++ Omg, any possible questions you may have while coding can also be found here by others. It's a huge platform where coders ask for advice.
  3. CogniSolver ++ Helpful for understanding how to use flexbox for basic layout.
  4. MDN Webdocs ++ Between this and Petrapixel's breakdown of grid, I learned grid and grid layouts in no time!
  5. r/neocities ++ Again, so helpful if you need any help on any process of the coding process. Also helpful for finding design resources.
  6. Net Ninja ++ For more advanced or non basic layouts using grid. Was very helpful when I wanted to branch out to more dynamic-ish designs.
  7. Cinnimani ++ great video for getting used to some coding properties and using neocities.
  8. Magoonka ++ Another great video for beginners of coding, neocities, and using coding software.
  9. Marighoul ++ One of the first videos I watched when I started and I learned how to add pictures and gifs to my webpage haha. Very clear and easy video to start with!

  1. PetraPixel ++ I love this webpage. Not only did it help me build my homepage and anime page, but also provided so many ways I could add accessability to my page even in small ways!
  2. Solaria ++ Once I started fully designing my webpage, I came across this site. It covers a lot of features that you can add to broaden the viewing experience for everyone. Has great advice section and a long list of articles so you can learn more about accessability!
  3. Layercake ++ This page includes some guidelines you can follow to start becoming accessible, but I also love the accessibility statement in general highlighted.

  2. BlueGhosts/BoringBlueBoy ++ This creator has a knack for watching the macabre, the strange, and the psychosexual. I love watching their thoughts on indie horror films and their thoughtful gifts for friends.
